****TRIGGER WARNING OVER SCENES IN THE BOOK****
This book was….. Decent. You know when you read a bunch in a short amount of time and then you read something really safe? That is how I felt about this. I did enjoy the book but I just wasn’t excited while reading it. I didn’t countdown the seconds until I could sit down and read the next chapter.
This follows a woman named Sparrow and a notorious mobster Troy. Sparrow is basically forced into marriage, but in a “pretty” way that doesn’t make it too naughty…. So this book was a hate turned to romance.. (Wow who would have guessed ;)) So like I said this book was decent but didn’t wow me so I am somewhat scratching my head over what exactly to say.
WAIT thought of something. So Troy is somewhat a questionable character, I mean yeah he is a Mobster but in romance novels aren’t they supposed to make mobsters more pretty in a literature way? Does that even make sense? Hmmm.. So there was a moment when Troy was confessing his love for Sparrow and he basically said he should have married her when they danced together at a wedding. Okay? Kind of sweet right? NOOOOOOO. She was 9 and he was like 20 something when they danced together. Like what in the heck! That made me reread the page for sure. So he was wishing he lived a more, “child grooming” lifestyle? How is that romantic to anyone? GTFO if u like that nasty azzz!
Now there was another questionable moment when Troy was threatening another mobster. Okay, like that is normal?? NO because he threatened to have the guy’s daughter gang banged and killed! He did later have a discussion with himself in his head about how he would NEVER do that and just said it to get his way but…. NOOOOOO. Like DISGUSTING. What happened to just cutting people’s tongues out?? I know mafia people aren’t great people but this isn’t a documentary… This is a romance novel so CLEAN IT UP.
So this book was troublesome and boring to me so I will not be adding it to my recommendations list..
Let’s get a few things straight. No beating around anyone’s bush –> straight to the factttsss. This blog will only consist of posts that I will immediately regret after posting due to the fact that I have no business having any type of opinion on absolutely anything.. Also if you are hoping to read some genius interpretation of some of the finest literature please do both of us a favor and just block me, or whatever you do on WordPress to completely erase the risk of you reading my trash reviews that will make you instantly hate me and want to tell me why.
Also if you haven’t noticed…. I am not a writer, and I usually never reread anything. (Or am I just that bad at English that I can’t form a correct sentence?) So if bad punctuation and incorrect use of words drives you crazy please join the people who already hate me because I am a disgrace to book bloggers everywhere.
This is my little oasis where I can drink my wine, probably get a little too tipsy and post my reviews about the books that I am usually too embarrassed to openly say I am reading. (Why do I still love young teen love, gross)
Okay now if you are a visual person and want to know what kind of blog this is. Picture a trashcan on fire. No further explanation needed.
